Step 1 — Setup

Ready in under 3 minutes.

Unbox, connect to Wi-Fi, and receive your first photo. That's the entire setup process — no technician, no IT department needed.

01

Unbox & place

Take the frame out of its box, unfold the stand and plug in the power cable. Position it wherever you'd like — on a shelf, a sideboard, a bedside table.

02

Connect to Wi-Fi

Select your Wi-Fi network from the on-screen menu using the remote control. A unique @mypixstar.com address is created automatically for your frame.

03

Send your first photo

Email a photo to the frame's address. It appears on screen in seconds. That's it — setup is complete. The recipient never needs to touch a setting again.

Pro tip — set it up before gifting

Configure the frame at home first, including Wi-Fi and initial photos. You can then manage everything remotely — so the recipient never has to configure anything themselves.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Everything you need to know before getting started with your Pix-Star frame.

Does the recipient need to do anything to receive photos?
No. Once the frame is connected to Wi-Fi (a one-time setup), photos arrive automatically. The recipient doesn't need to press anything, download anything or create an account. Photos simply appear on the screen.
How many people can send photos to the same frame?
As many as you like. Simply share the frame's @mypixstar.com email address with family and friends. Each person sends photos from their own device — no account needed for senders.
Does the frame work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. The internal memory (8 or 16 GB depending on the model) continues to display stored photos even when Wi-Fi is disconnected. You can also add photos via USB or SD card, with no internet connection required.
How long does setup take?
Under 3 minutes. Plug in, connect to Wi-Fi, and send your first photo. The frame is ready to receive photos immediately after connecting. The recipient never has to configure anything.
Can I manage the frame remotely for my elderly parent?
Yes. From your free online account at pix-star.com, you can add or delete photos, organise albums, set brightness levels, programme sleep hours and update settings — all without your relative having to do anything.
What photo and video formats are supported?
Images: JPG, PNG, HEIC, GIF, BMP, WebP. Videos: MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV. Audio: MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC. Documents: PDF (by email). Also supports Apple Live Photos and USB/SD up to 2 TB.
Is there a monthly subscription or hidden fee?
No. The frame is a one-time purchase. Cloud storage, the mobile app, the web portal and all photo sending methods are completely free — now and forever. There are no subscriptions, no storage limits and no hidden charges.
What happens to my photos if I stop using the frame?
Your photos remain safely stored in your Pix-Star cloud account. You can download them all at any time. We never delete your photos, and you retain full ownership of all your content.
